  6. It’s 1 pinch of Cardamom powder.
  7. You need 4 tbsp of Ghee.
  8. Prepare 1/4 cups of Milk.

Sweet Pongal step by step

  1. Wash the rice and moongdal and pressure cook both of them together.In a pan,add a tblsp of ghee and fry the cashewnuts and raisins seperately till golden brown..
  2. Add jaggery in the kadai and add few tblsp of water to it. Stir in between till the jaggery melts and filter the impurities..
  3. Again heat the jaggery syrup in the kadai for 5 mins. Mash the cooked rice nicely by adding milk to it..
  4. Add the rice mixture to the jaggery syrup and mix nicely to avoid forming lumps. Keep the stove in low and add ghee, cardamom powder to it..
  5. Garnish with cashew and raisins and transfer to a serving bowl..
