- You need for of Dry Ingredients:-.
- It’s 4 cups of All purpose flour.
- You need 1 tbsp of sugar.
- Prepare 2 tbsp of Milk powder(Any milk powder).
- It’s 2 tsp of Salt.
- It’s 1 tbsp of Yeast(Active dry yeast)it will rise very fast.
- You need For of Liquid Ingredients:-.
- It’s 4 tbsp of Oil(normal oil).
- It’s 1 of Egg(at room temperature).
- It’s 1 cup and 3 tbsp of Lukewarm Water(As needed).
- You need 1 tsp of Oil(to apply on the dough).
- It’s 1/2 tsp of Oil(to apply on the container where dough will rest).
- Prepare For of stuffing:-.
- You need 200 grams of Boiled chicken(boneless chicken cut into small pieces).
- Prepare 2 tbsp of Oil.
- Prepare 1/2 cup of Onion.
- Prepare 1 tsp of Garlic paste.
- It’s 1 of Red bell pepper(finely chopped).
- You need 1/2 cup of Green onion.
- It’s 1/4 cup of Corn(here I used frozen which is boiled. If you are using fresh corn you can boil it and then add).
- You need 1 pouch of Maggie masala.
- You need 2 tsp of Chicken powder(knorr/Maggie).
- Prepare 1 tsp of Oregano.
- You need 1 tsp of Crushed pepper.
- It’s 1 tsp of White pepper or black pepper.
- You need To of make the white gravy:-.
- You need 3 tbsp of All purpose flour.
- Prepare 1.5 cups of Milk.
- You need 1/2 tsp of Salt.
- It’s For of Egg wash:-.
- It’s 1 of Egg.
- It’s 1 tsp of Water.
- It’s For of Garnishing on the bread:-.
- It’s Pinch of Sesame seeds(sprinkle over the bread after egg wash/milk over each of the bread).
Chicken bread is amazingly delicious braided bread stuffed with a creamy chicken filling easily available in the bakeries. It is a popular dish in the western countries and equally popular in South. Chicken Bread instructions
- Mix the dry ingredients with a spoon. Then add yeast. Mix it once with a spoon. Now knead the dough using little water at a time. Don’t add the full water once. Slowly add water as you knead the dough for chapatis. The dough will be just like the dough of chapatis. Not very soft and not hard at all. Normal as we do for chapatis..
- Use oil as we use at the end of kneading. Knead it once again just to mix the oil. Now your dough won’t stick at all and will remain soft. If you will press then you can see it will bounce back. This is perfect to rest. Now spread 1/2TSP oil in the bowl where you want to keep the dough for resting. We use oil to avoid the dough getting dry..
- The bowl should be large in size as the dough will become almost double in size. Then keep your dough inside the container, cover it and keep it inside the microwave for resting. Microwave should be switched off while you keep your dough inside it. It should not be heated at all. Just use the microwave like a storage. If it is hot outside you can keep it outside also..
- Else you can also keep it in a storage/drawer/ cabinet which is not in use.It may take from 45 mins to 2 hour to rise depending on the temperature outside. So you have to check time to time after 40 mins or so. You can use when it is doubled in size. If it is cold then it may take 1 to 2 hour to rise..
- You can add any vegetables of your choice. You can also use the green peas in place of corns. You can also add black olives(2tbsp)if you have it. I did not had so I have not added here..
- Steps for stuffing:-Take a pan. Add oil. Saute the onion first for 1min. Then add the garlic paste. Fry the garlic paste with the onion for 30 seconds.Add bell peppers, corn and spring onion to it. Add the raw chicken at this stage. Fry well with the veggies till the colour of the chicken changed. Then add the spices to the chicken. Mix well and cook covered till the chicken pieces properly cooked..
- Add the flour to the chicken. Fry the flour with the chicken for 40seconds. Add the milk to it to make a white sauce chicken stuffing. Cook it till the stuffing becomes slightly thick. Don’t make fully thick because after cooling down the stuffing will be more thick. So take this into consideration. Lastly add the salt to it. Mix it well and then remove the stuffing from the pan and keep it in a plate for cooling down..
- Steps for making the final chicken stuffed bread:-Beat one egg and add 1tsp water to it for making the egg wash.For milk wash you can directly use the normal milk for brushing.Once stuffing is cool. Check the dough. If it already risen, then bring the dough and slightly knead and make the equal balls to prepare bread out of it. Before cutting the balls you have to keep the baking tray or pan size in mind. Your bread size has to be smaller than the pan size in the length and width..
- Put a parchment paper on the baking tray/pan so that it will be less messy. Then knead the balls in lengthwise(refer my picture) and then put the chicken stuffing in the middle lengthwise genuinely so that you can enjoy the taste of chicken in each and every bite of your bread. Avoid dusting of flour. But if you knead them then slightly you can dust but not more. Then give the cut marks on the sides of the bread from top to bottom..
- Then close the bread by sealing both sides by overlapping each side on the other. Please refer to my picture. Once the bread is ready to be baked. Then keep it on the baking tray or pan over the parchment paper. Once you sealed the bread properly then brush the egg wash or normal milk over the bread for the good shine. Sprinkle some sesame seeds for the professional look..
- Bake in the preheated oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 to 20 mins. You can check from time to time after 10 mins or so. Once you get a good colour at around 15 or 20 mins, remove the bread from the oven. Then keep it outside for 5 mins..
- Enjoy this hot chicken bread with salad and drinks of your choice. This is a good breakfast or dinner option as it is very filling. You can also pack it while you go out for a picnic.
